Volusia philosophy is built mainly on the understanding that one’s rate of success is directly proportional to that of his/her environment. History
Volusia was registered as a Limited Liability Company in Sri Lanka in the year 2006 as a result of an ideological discussion among its founders started several years before that in Daytona Beach, Florida in the United States of America. Basic idea was to help the humanity anyway we can and the financial support needed for that to be provided by a business organization we run. Most of the discussion was taking place while one of the founders was a professor at an aeronautical university in Florida and another was completing his master’s degree in aviation business administration. Appropriate enough the thought process turned towards providing a service of higher standard in the transportation sector. Hence the motto of the company “It’s a Privilege” meaning that we are privileged to have the opportunity to serve our clients and we hope our clients will feel the same to receive our specialized service customized to their individual needs. The name “Volusia” itself is a symbol and a constant reminder of this humble beginning since it is a name used by the Native Americans.

A well respected member of the society whose insight and wisdom is tapped by a wide variety of people. He is a nature lover, a philanthropist and a natural leader of the community. He was awarded the professorship in 2007 in appreciation of his contributions to the process of understanding the history of Sri Lankan people.
Dr. Thilan U Hewage - Managing Director
A senior lecturer in the department of mathematics of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He completed the PhD in Mathematical Economics in 1991 at the Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Some of his fifteen year working experience in the US was as an associate professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Daytona College and the rest as a HR consultant to different organizations. He is a dual citizen of the USA and Sri Lanka.
Mr. Nirosh Gunawardana – CEO / Executive Director
An expert in aviation field. He holds a BSc (Aircraft Engineering) and a MBA (Aviation) from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, USA. His professional experience spreads through hospitality industry, Financial Management and several international airlines.
